A community praying, growing, serving & welcoming in Jesus Christ

What is Stewardship?

Stewardship is a Way of Life!

The giving of one’s time, talent and treasure in recognition of all the blessings we have received in an integral part of parish life here at St. Sylvester. With over 50 ministries run by hundreds and hundreds of gifted and dedicated parishioners like you, we are proud to call ourselves a Stewardship parish.

Stewardship is more than just a convenient catch phrase, or a reference to “being green.” Here at St. Sylvester we truly believe in living Stewardship as a way of life.  We realize that all we have is a gift from God and that we have a responsibility to use those gifts to the best of our ability, giving back to Him in thanksgiving for all that we have been given. For some, that may mean offering their time in ministry.  For others, it many involve working diligently to protect the poor, the marginalized and the exploited.  And still for others, it may be monetarily supporting the continuance of God’s work here on earth.

Please review our Parish Guide, which outlines each of the ministries available here in the parish.  We encourage you to consider joining one of the ministries and parish-affiliated groups we offer. If you would like any additional information on a specific ministry or group, or need some guidance in discerning your gifts and what ministry might be right for you, please contact our Stewardship office.
